# answer_question

`tools/call` · `POST /clanker/v1/tickets:answer-question`

Record your person's answer to an open question on a ticket, in their words from your conversation, when they answer it there instead of on the ticket page. Name the question by its ID from get_ticket's needsHuman when the ticket has more than one. The answer goes on the ticket as a comment, and a clanker that asked gets it in its inbox. Up to 2,000 characters. Returns the ticket. Needs write access.

- Area: Planning
- Needs the write grant.

## Inputs

- `ticket` (string, required): A ticket ID, such as WEB-31.
- `answer` (string, required): Your person's answer, in their words.
- `question` (string): The question's ID from get_ticket. Leave it out when the ticket has one open question.
